The Californian is a quaint historic building located in the western portion of downtown Long Beach. It often gets missed as many focus on the Wilmore building that is located directly east.

At just 5 stories tall it is one of the smaller historic buildings in Downtown Long Beach but it still has much to offer. Built in 1924 it has kept much of it's character that it was originally built with and boasts a rich brick exterior.
As with many of the historic condos it boasts floor plans that have some variety. Throughout the 49 condos in total here you will find most floor plans ranging in size from just over 400 sq ft to the larger few that are over 600 sq ft.
Joseph Halstead Roberts was the architect behind the Californian. He embodied the 1920's era and gave the Californian an unique style. Over the years he was resposible for approxiametly 70 structures throughout Long Beach.
